I really wanted these prompts to do more than just fill a page; I wanted them to act as a mirror for our kids.  When we are in the thick of those 9th-grade transitions, everything can feel a bit uprooted and uncertain, much like a garden in late March.  By giving our students/homeschoolers permission to write through the “mud” of the season, we are teaching them that growth is not always pretty, but it is always purposeful.  Watching my daughter move from the quiet, introspective entries of January to the more kinetic, hopeful writing of April has been such a gift to witness, and I wanted to share that same experience with your family.
